ROTA FURNITURE - QUALITY AND CARE

Warranty

Your Rota furniture is warranted for a period of six months from date of purchase against defective workmanship and / or breakage due to normal usage. In the event of product failure due to such causes, at the discretion of the importer, your item of Rota furniture will be replaced at no charge at the point of sale or you will be refunded the full purchase price paid. (The importer will attempt to accommodate your preference in this regard.)

In order to claim against this warranty you must produce the original purchase invoice and return the defective product, as well as be able to show that the product has not been abused in any way, failing which there can be no claim.

Care

The appearance and life of your Rota furniture will depend largely upon the degree to which it is exposed to the elements and the care that you give it. Although the furniture is designed for outdoor use, the more it is exposed to direct sunlight and inclement weather conditions, the more frequently the timber will require to be nourished / protected. Due to variable weather conditions and exposure, it is not possible to provide accurate time frames within which the timber will require repeated treatment for preservation. This will also depend upon the method of treatment preferred by you.

Your Rota furniture has been lightly coated at the factory where manufactured; but we recommend that you apply additional treatment to it within a short time after purchase. Again, this interval will depend upon the exposure factors referred to above. It should be easy for you to judge when best to apply treatment. With exposure to the elements the timber will gradually fade, taking on a grey colour and the grain will become rough. The longer you allow this process to advance, the greater the care you will need to apply in order to restore the furniture back towards it’s new appearance.

The treatment you may apply is up to you. There are a number of standard timber treatment products available on the market, ranging from oils and waxes to sealers and varnishes, that may be purchased at a wide range of retail outlets. Many are natural and many include dyes that will impact upon the colour of the timber once applied; each may also give a different finish. Generally, oils and specialized waxes are best for nourishing timber and polyurethane based products are best for protection against the elements; but oils and waxes will need to be applied more frequently. It is recommended that, if you are not accustomed to dealing with timber products, you take advice from a qualified retailer specializing in timber products as to what treatment product will be best suited to your particular preferences and circumstances.

Enjoy!

Given proper care, your Rota furniture should retain it’s good looks, quality and integrity and give you many years of pleasure.
